Personal Background
Brenda is a 4th generation San Franciscan. She attended Convent of the Sacred
Heart in San Francisco from Kindergarten through high school. She attended
Gonzaga University for 2 years before transferring to the University of San
Francisco. After graduating university, Brenda spent several years in Europe and
Asia.
Returning to San Francisco, Brenda became an Account Executive for J. Walter
Thompson Advertising agency in San Francisco specializing in the cruise ship
industry. She then went on to become a Sales Manager with Royal Viking Line
and then Royal Cruise Line. In 1992 she became a partner in Leisure Voyages — a
specialized cruise company featuring deluxe river cruises in various areas of the world. Her accounts included various alumni organizations including USC, UCLA, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford as well as several art museums and non-profit organizations. She and her partner sold the business in 2001 to Viking Cruises. Sunny skies, beautiful golf courses and Palm Trees beckoned Brenda and her
husband, Don, (and little Maltese – Snowball) to the desert.
